Steve is a 1975 Graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. He continued his formal education at the University of Kansas and received his Masters of Science in Business Administration in 1992 while working full time.
Upon graduation in 1975, Steve was employed by Black & Veatch Consulting Engineers-Kansas City, Missouri. In 1976 he joined Shockey-Lane, Inc. as a sales-engineer. In 1979 he opened Shockey-Lane’s first branch office in Wichita, KS where he provided close support and equipment to the aircraft and beef processing industries. In 1985 Steve returned to the main office in Kansas City due to the untimely death of his father (a principal of the company). Steve purchased Shockey-Lane from Charlie Shockey in 1992.
In 1996, Steve combined Shockey-Lane, Inc. with Brookside Industrial Equipment Company (dba Brookside & Lane Associates). Steve’s experience is wide ranging from aircraft manufacturing; beef, pork and poultry facilities; paint booths and paint hangers, coal fired power plants and general manufacturing. Steve spends a large part of his time working on direct gas fired industrial heating and ventilation systems in these industries.
Andy is a 1971 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a B.S Degree in Management Engineering. After graduation, he was hired by Buffalo Forge Company to participate in their one year long Engineering & Sales Training Program. Upon completion of the training program in 1972, he was employed in Kansas City by Donald J. Seifert Company to sell the Buffalo Forge Company product line.
In 1980 Don & Andy established Brookside Industrial Equipment Company. In 1996 Brookside Industrial Equipment Company combined capabilities with Shockey Lane, Inc. and began using Brookside and Lane Associates as the corporate name.
Andy’s extensive product and project resume runs the gamut from fractional horsepower fans to 10,000 HP mechanical draft fans in coal fired power plants. He can assist in the proper selection of Industrial/Process Fans and Air Handling Units, API Fans, Industrial Ventilation, Power Plant Ventilation, Noise Control and Heating & Cooling Coils.
Misty Goode is currently the Project Manager for Brookside & Lane and is your contact for new orders, approvals, change orders, drawings, special documentation requests, and all other order-related inquiries. She has been with the company since 2003 and uses her 14 years of experience in the sales department to ensure that your project proceeds through manufacture following your fabrication schedule to the best of the factory’s abilities. She believes that communication is key and works with our vendors daily to make sure you have the most up-to-date status information for your project. She will also assist you to determine how changes in your system after the quoting stages will affect the fans and components we provide and she’ll be your voice with the factory to keep your project running smoothly.
Adam Goode joined our team in 2016. With his previous 5 years of experience in pneumatic conveying and 21 years of experience in drafting, he has quickly become a valuable member of the Brookside & Lane sales team. His goal is to provide the fast and accurate proposal turnaround and service for our customers.
Ryan is a 2002 Graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla with a B.S. Degree in Engineering Management. He has continued his studies at the University of Kansas in pursuit of a Masters of Science in Engineering Management.
Upon graduation in 2002, Ryan was employed as a Plant Engineer and Quality Manager by Kitterman Plastics in Riverside, MO. In 2004, he entered into the Air Filtration industry and has held various positions including Technical Sales, Application Engineer, and Product Manager for Baghouse Accessories (BHA), GE Energy, Mac Equipment, Schenck Process, and Industrial Accessories Company (IAC).
In May 2016, Ryan joined Brookside and Lane Associates, where he utilizes his system engineering approach and airflow engineering background to assist in the proper selection of Industrial/Process Fans, Air Handling Units, and associated ventilation products.
Cheree Keeney has taken on multiple roles at Brookside and Lane Associates since starting her employment with us in 1997. She is currently our acting Office Manager. She manages all our accounts payable and receivables, purchase orders, and invoicing. She is also available to back up all of our sales staff with proposals, drawings and purchase orders. Cheree is a key person in keeping our office running smoothly and efficiently. Her primary focus is to ensure that communication and teamwork is paramount in how we conduct business and her hope is that you will find all of our staff helpful and knowledgeable with your specific needs.
The first voice of greeting you will most likely hear when calling Brookside & Lane Associates is Sheila Padilla. Sheila has been with our firm since 2004. She takes on many roles and responsibilities at Brookside and Lane. She informs our customers when their orders are due to ship from our vendors and provides tracking information when orders are on the way. If you need expediting or status on your order, she is the one to contact! Internally, she maintains our files and enters order data on our spreadsheets. She keeps our customer information up to date and assists with some of our financial duties. Because we are a small office, our front office staff is proficient with multi-tasking to get things done!
